St James's Park

St James's Park

In the spring of 2009, I was living and working in London. I visited this patch of Daffodils in St James' Park, London, five mornings in a row. I wanted to capture the serenity of the scene, hence being there before any of the tourists, I also liked the soft morning light. I love the way both the trees and Daffodils lead into the photograph and the impact of the single white Daffodil in the foreground. This scene suited a vertical panoramic format with the tall trees, I didn't consider any other format.
