Bidean Nam Bian

Bidean Nam Bian

The hike up to Bidean Nam Bian, the highest mountain in the Glencoe range, from the Glencoe valley is breath taking, you can see so much. On the summit I sheltered in a snow cave for 4 hours, to escape the biting wind and blizzard conditions, for 10 seconds of light. Luckily I was ready! I wanted to stay for Sunset but the prospect of several more hours of shivering was not a nice one. Also the cloud closed in even further meaning the chances of a decent sunset weren't in my favour. In the distance of the image is Rannoch Moor and the mountain to the left is Stob Coire nan Lochan.
