Les Drus

Les Drus

The Aiguille du Dru (also Le Dru or Les Drus; French, Les Drus) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps, lying to the east of the village of Les Praz in the Chamonix valley. The north face of the Petit Dru is considered one of the six great north faces of the Alps.

For this image, I cheated and took the Montevers railway to the foot of the Mer de Glace and then hiked down in the dark after sunset. Having forgotten my headlight the decent was somewhat treacherous in the pitch black of the night.
